Privacy policy

Plain version: I only collect what you send me, I use it to reply, and I don't sell it. The detail is below.

Last updated June 2026

What I collect

When you fill out the contact form I receive what you choose to enter: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the type of work you're interested in, and your message. If you book a call, the scheduling step collects the details needed to set up that meeting. I don't ask for anything I don't need to reply.

Like any website, the hosting platform records standard technical logs — IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — used to keep the site running and secure.

Who processes it

A few third parties handle data on my behalf, each under their own privacy terms:

  • HubSpot receives contact-form submissions and stores them so I can manage and respond to inquiries.
  • Calendly powers the optional "book a call" scheduling on the contact page.
  • Netlify hosts the site and keeps the server logs described above.

How it's used

I use your information for one thing: to read your message and reply about the work you're asking about. I don't sell it, rent it, or share it for advertising. I won't add you to a marketing list without you asking.

Cookies

The site itself doesn't set tracking or advertising cookies. The embedded HubSpot form and Calendly scheduler may set their own cookies when you interact with them; those are governed by their respective policies.

Keeping and removing your data

I keep contact-form messages for as long as they're useful to our correspondence. You can ask me to show you what I have, correct it, or delete it at any time — just email josh@thebrileys.com and I'll take care of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it. Questions about any of this are welcome at josh@thebrileys.com .
